Synopsis
In 1860s Paris, Therese Raquin finds herself trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin Camille due to the manipulations of their domineering aunt Madame Raquin. Therese's monotonous life revolves around working behind the counter of their small shop and watching Madame play dominos with friends each evening. When Laurent, an alluring friend of Camille's, enters their lives, Therese embarks on a passionate affair with him. The illicit relationship leads to tragic consequences for them all.
