Synopsis
In 1972, Julia, a disenchanted young woman in her mid-twenties, leaves dreary English life behind with her daughters Lucy (aged six) and Bea (precocious at eight). They journey to Morocco in search of freedom and love. The story unfolds through the eyes of Lucy as they encounter adventures and new experiences while exploring Moroccan culture.

Résumé
Hideous Kinky, a 1998 film directed by Gillies MacKinnon, is an adaptation of Esther Freud's semi-autobiographical novel of the same name.
