Synopsis
Kenny Wells, an eager but luckless prospector and hustler, teams up with Michael Acosta, a geologist also down on his luck, for one last attempt at striking it rich. They journey deep into the Indonesian jungle in search of gold, driven by Wells' determination to prove himself and escape his family's mining legacy. After discovering an abundant gold deposit, they stake their claim but struggle to secure funding due to the remote location. Wells resorts to fabricating reports to inflate the value of their discovery and attracts investors on Wall Street. However, as their fraudulent scheme gains traction and more money pours in, Wells must confront the consequences of his actions when those closest to him begin to question his motives.

Résumé
Gold is a tense thriller based on true events, directed by Stephen Gaghan ('Syriana'). The film follows Kenny Wells (Matthew McConaughey), a charismatic yet struggling prospector seeking redemption in the form of a massive gold discovery. Teaming up with geologist Michael Acosta ( Édgar Ramírez) and traversing the unforgiving jungles of Indonesia, Wells ultimately finds his fortune but must navigate the treacherous waters of Wall Street to secure funding for their claim. The story explores themes of ambition, deceit, and the high cost of success in the face of adversity.
