Synopsis

In Buenos Aires during Argentina's military dictatorship in the 1970s, Maria Fabiani (36), a militant activist opposed to the dictatorship, lives with her French mother Diane and teaches illiterate adults in shanty towns. Felix (45), one of their tenants, has an unrequited crush on Maria. One morning, Maria is abducted by military personnel dressed as civilians right before her mother's eyes. They take her to Garage Olimpo, a notorious torture center. Tigre (50s), the head of the garage, assigns Felix to interrogate Maria, hoping she will reveal information about her political activities and those involved with her. Meanwhile, Diane desperately searches for her daughter at police stations and with influential friends but finds no reliable information. While imprisoned in Garage Olimpo, Maria undergoes torture at Felix's hands. The story ultimately explores the psychological impact of torture on both Maria and Felix.
