Synopsis
Ram Das, an unemployed Indian engineer from Calcutta, steals money from his father to afford passage to Britain in hopes of finding work and a better life. Upon arrival, he meets a white woman who catches his fancy but seems out of his league. In order to impress her, Ram Das pretends to be a doctor after accidentally being mistaken for one at a party. He continues the charade, leading him into comedic situations as he navigates his new identity.
