Synopsis
The movie 'Ferdinando e Carolina' (1999) follows King Ferdinando I of Naples as he reflects on his life while on his deathbed in the early 1820s. He remembers his younger days when he was allowed to enjoy hunting, fun activities, and invent love games. His life takes a political turn when he is obliged to marry Maria Carolina of Austria, daughter of Empress Maria Theresa, as part of an arranged marriage. Unexpectedly, they fall in love and become happy lovers. However, court power games eventually divide them, signaling the end of their happiness and marking the arrival of a new historical season.

Résumé
'Ferdinando e Carolina' is a comedy-drama film directed by Lina Wertmüller and released in 1999. The movie explores the story of King Ferdinando I of Naples and his relationship with Maria Carolina of Austria, whom he married as part of an arranged political marriage.
