Synopsis
Fausto enters an orphanage and initially faces bullying from his fellow inhabitants. However, he soon befriends Raymond, a new bunkmate. Fausto is apprenticed to Mietek, a tailor in the Jewish quarter, where he learns the trade. He proves to be a charmer, winning over everyone in the quarter. Fausto falls in love with Tonie, the mechanic's daughter, and starts making outrageous suits for publicity after dressing her. His ambition grows, and he decides that he wants to become a famous couturier.
