Synopsis
Elizabeth, an aspiring journalist, becomes entwined in a dangerous investigation after her friend Ann is killed during an extramarital affair. While in San Francisco, Elizabeth befriends Ann and learns about her secret life. Encouraged by her demanding editor, Elizabeth persuades Ann to share her story for an article on modern sexual trends. However, when Ann is found stabbed to death during one of these affairs, Elizabeth realizes that she herself may be in danger as she becomes drawn into the investigation. Meanwhile, Elizabeth engages in a brief affair with Bob, Ann's gigolo friend, further complicating her already strained marriage to Eric.
