Synopsis
Caleb, an employee of the world's largest internet company, wins a competition to spend a week at his CEO Nathan's remote mountain retreat in Norway. Upon arrival, Caleb learns that he has been selected to participate in an experiment involving Ava, the first true artificial intelligence housed in a humanoid robot body. Caleb must conduct a Turing test, engaging with Ava to determine her ability to exhibit intelligent behavior equivalent to, or indistinguishable from, that of a human being. As the week progresses, Caleb begins to question his own perceptions and the nature of consciousness, as well as the potential consequences of Ava's awakening.
