Synopsis
During the Battle of Stalingrad in WWII, a Russian sniper, Vassili Zaitzev, becomes a hero and receives the title 'Ace of Spades'. In response to this threat, the German forces dispatch their best sniper, Major Konig, to eliminate him. The two engage in a cat-and-mouse game as they try to outwit each other amidst the intense combat.

Résumé
Enemy at the Gates is a 2001 film directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud, based on the book of the same name by William Craig. Set during the brutal Battle of Stalingrad in WWII, the movie revolves around a deadly duel between two skilled snipers: Vassili Zaitzev, a Russian hero who becomes the target of Nazi propaganda due to his high kill count, and Major Konig, a German sniper tasked with eliminating him.
