Synopsis
The story unfolds in Argentina and revolves around Benjamin Esposito, a middle-aged man who decides to write a novel about an unresolved case he worked on years ago as a court employee. The narrative shifts between past and present, revealing that Benjamin was once in love with a woman named Irene Menéndez Hastings. The case involved the brutal rape and murder of her husband, which Benjamin witnessed but couldn't prevent. He becomes obsessed with finding the killer and bringing him to justice.
