Synopsis
The defrocked priest Mathis Vogel wanders the streets of Paris believing he has been tasked by God to rid the world of sin and expel demons. He infiltrates a Black Mass where participants simulate torture for thrills. Convinced they are possessed, Vogel decides to 'purify' them using Spanish Inquisition rites. The film follows his descent into sadistic violence as he carries out this self-proclaimed mission.
