Synopsis
Duburys (2009), directed by Gytis Luksas, traces the life of its protagonist through the Soviet era. The film begins with his childhood spent in a village, likely depicting the simple joys and challenges of rural life during that period. As he grows older, his experiences expand to include true friendship, which would have been particularly valued in the collectivist society of the USSR. Later, the narrative shifts to his work life in Soviet Klaipeda, where the complexities of navigating professional relationships under a totalitarian regime are likely explored. Alongside these themes, the film incorporates elements of thrilling eroticism and fatal love, suggesting intense, possibly forbidden or ill-fated romantic encounters.
