Synopsis
Jesse, a small-time criminal, urgently needs to leave Las Vegas and steals a car to drive to Los Angeles. During his escape, he accidentally kills a highway patrolman in a chase scene. Upon reaching LA, Jesse takes refuge with Monica, a girl he has only known for a few days. As the police close in on him and his crimes escalate, Jesse becomes the most wanted fugitive in LA.

Résumé
Based on the classic French New Wave film 'À bout de soufflé' (1960), 'Breathless' is an American remake that transplants the story to California. Directed by Jim McBride, this 1983 thriller combines elements of crime, romance, and drama. The plot follows Jesse's desperate flight from the law after a fatal mistake during his escape from Las Vegas. Once in Los Angeles, he seeks refuge with Monica, leading to an intense, albeit brief, romantic relationship amidst the growing tension of his wanted status.
