Synopsis
Will Keane (Richard Gere), a successful and unhappily single restaurateur in his late forties, meets Charlotte Fielding (Winona Ryder), a vibrant young woman in her twenties who recently discovered she has a terminal heart condition. Despite their mutual attraction, they initially agree to keep their relationship casual due to Will's playboy lifestyle and Charlotte's acceptance of her impending death. However, as they grow closer, Charlotte begins to reevaluate her desire to 'let go' and embrace life again, while Will starts to see the possibility of a deeper commitment with someone for the first time in his adult life. Their relationship is put under further strain when Charlotte meets Lisa Tyler (Melena Moore), a woman who reminds Charlotte of how much she has left to live for, causing her to feel resentful towards Will. Meanwhile, Will struggles with his growing feelings for Charlotte but is hesitant due to the age difference and her terminal illness. As their relationship becomes more complicated, they must both confront their fears about love and mortality.
