Synopsis
Angélique, a young baroness in 17th century France, finds herself forced into an arranged marriage with Joffrey de Peyrac, a wealthy and mysterious man. Despite her initial resistance, Angélique develops deep feelings for Joffrey as they navigate the treacherous political landscape of their time. As Louis XIV rises to power, Angélique and Joffrey become entangled in a web of intrigue and danger that threatens both their lives.

Résumé
