Synopsis
In 1840s England, renowned paleontologist Mary Anning struggles to make ends meet by selling common fossils after her days of famed discoveries are behind her. When wealthy gentleman Roderick Murchison arrives with his wife Charlotte, he asks Mary to care for Charlotte's health while they stay at the seaside. Despite their differing social classes and personalities, Mary initially clashes with Charlotte but soon finds herself drawn to her charge. A deep bond forms between them, leading to a passionate and forbidden love affair that threatens to defy societal norms.

Résumé
Ammonite is a historical drama directed by Francis Lee in 2020, set against the backdrop of early Victorian England.
