Synopsis
Ex-convict Jonathan (played by Lohman) finds refuge in a motel run by a single mother named Monica and her teenage daughter Clara. He attempts to live a quiet reformed life but his past soon catches up with him when Clara is viciously assaulted. The peace and freedom he has found in this safe haven are disrupted, forcing Jonathan to confront his old demons.

Directed by Jérémie Guez, 'A Bluebird in My Heart' (2018) is a French-Belgian drama-thriller that explores themes of redemption, betrayal, and the consequences of one's past actions. Set against the backdrop of a motel and its inhabitants, the film follows Jonathan, an ex-con trying to live a quiet life, and his relationship with Clara, the teenage daughter of the woman sheltering him.
