Hollie-Jay Bowes is a British actress best known for her role as Michaela McQueen in the long-running Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks, a character she portrayed from 2006 to 2012. Born on January 17, 1989, in Oldham, Greater Manchester, she began her acting career at a young age, gaining early recognition for her role as Dawn O’Malley in the BBC series Grange Hill.
Beyond her prominent work on Hollyoaks, Bowes has appeared in various television projects, including the BBC’s Casualty, Waterloo Road (as Debs Rafferty starting in 2023), and the police drama No Offence. In addition to her acting career, she is an accomplished voice-over artist and has been involved in music as the lead singer of the band Jeanie and the Radiator (formerly known as Jeanie and the Toy Boys). Known for her vibrant personality, she continues to be a versatile figure in the British entertainment industry, most recently appearing in the series Threesome (2025/2026).
