Synopsis
Gary Gilmore, after serving a prison term in Indiana, moves to Utah seeking a fresh start. He begins a tumultuous relationship with Nicole Baker, a young single mother. Their relationship quickly sours, leading Gary on a violent spree where he murders two men during separate robberies. After his arrest and trial, Gilmore demands capital punishment, becoming the first person to be executed in the U.S. since the government reinstated the death penalty.
