Synopsis
Based on Leonie Frieda's book 'Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France,' the series follows Catherine de Medici's life as she enters the French court at a young age. Initially viewed as an immigrant, common, and plain, Catherine marries King Henry II expecting to bring a fortune in dowry and produce many heirs. However, she discovers her husband is in love with an older woman, her dowry is unpaid, and she struggles with infertility.
