Synopsis
Germinal (2021) follows Étienne Lantier as he arrives in Montsou seeking work and finds employment at the local coal mine owned by the powerful De Noyers family. There, he meets the Maheu family and becomes particularly close to their daughter Catherine, with whom he eventually falls in love.
