Synopsis
In 'El invierno de las anjanas', a young worker and his upper-class lover, Adelaida, are torn apart when he is drafted into the Spanish Army to fight in the Cuban War of Independence. After receiving news of her lover's death, Adelaida refuses to believe it and is committed to an insane asylum by her jealous sister Maria. While institutionalized, Adelaida becomes convinced that wood-nymphs from the adjacent forest will lead her to her lover and happiness.
